MEET THE PANELISTS
Ashley Nordell
Ashley Nordell is a mom to two girls who has been running ultras for 19 years. Her bio is littered with course records and she has been competitive throughout those years- notable: her 100 mile PR of 18:12 is from 2019. She lives in Sisters OR and works from home as a coach and customer service specialist for a company out of Eugene, OR. Her first FKT was the 165 Ozark Highlands Trail in Arkansas. https://teamrunrun.com/coach/ashley-nordell-sisters-running-coach/ Emily Halnon
Emily is a writer and trail runner out of Eugene, OR. Some of her most notable runs include setting the overall FKT on the 460-mile Oregon PCT and traversing every Domino’s Pizza in Eugene city limits. Many of us read the article she wrote about running PCT w/ Danielle. We are still waiting for an article on the Domino’s Pizza run. She's currently training for her first Hardrock with the help of her best training buddy Dilly Pickle Chip. |
Bethany Garretson
Bethany is a mountain athlete, writer and professor in the Adirondack Mountains of New York. Before her career as a professor, she was a wilderness therapy instructor for four years and lived off the grid for the majority of the time. She knew about a few FKTS in the Adirondacks via word of mouth and focused on becoming the first woman to hike all 46 in an unsupported fashion. In 2020, she completed that dream with Katie Rhodes. While prepping for the adventure, Bethany began to study the FKT website, purchased a GPS watch and created a Strava account. In some ways, she feels new to a sport that she's been doing for years. She does it for the love and healing power of being outside. She is a Brand Ambassador for SheJumps, a nonprofit that helps more women and girls have access to the outdoors. We recommend her website (bethanyclimbs.com) which features FKT reports and features on some “badass mountain women” |
Becky Grebosky
Becky lives in Ashland, OR where she spends most of her outdoor time hiking, backpacking and running in the Siskiyiou Mntns, Ashland Watershed, and the PCT. She loves to run ultras and volunteers at local races. She got into FKTs when Covid hit and her running coach Ryan Ghelfi with Trails & Tarmac suggested FKTs as a way to stay focused. She currently has 7. She is hoping to hit 10 FKTs this year and is excited to adventure with other women! Alex Bond
Alex is a lifelong Washingtonian who took outdoor adventures from an occasional pastime to an obsession in 2016. Alex is the regional editor for the Pacific Northwest for the Fastest Known Time website, serves on the board of the Seattle Running Club, and volunteers as a rock and alpine climbing instructor with the Mountaineers club. He enjoys almost every type of mountain movement, from endurance activities like running and cycling to more technical pursuits like rock climbing, skiing, and packrafting, with varying degrees of competence, and finds the most joy in combining these into fun and challenging days out. |
